Another Backyard America exclusive, the Savannah Cedar Pergola is a classic design that will enhance any patio or garden. This is the design that we used when we first started building pergolas more than 15 years ago. And it is still our most popular model!
The pergola kit is offered with several options. The support columns available for this pergola kit include both white vinyl and natural cedar. Like all of our pergola kits, the Savannah Cedar Pergola comes with all of the materials and hardware needed for assembly.

Savannah Pergolas are shipped with all parts cut, notched, and sanded ready
for stain or they may be left to weather to a silver gray.

Assembly is easy. All of the cedar parts have been notched so there's no measuring or cutting. All of the screws needed for assembly are packaged with the kit. The only tools needed for assembly of the top is a screw gun and a rubber mallet.

The Savannah Pergola has classic proportions. The interlocking design starts with beams that are double 2 x 8's. The rafters are 2 x 6's that are spaced at approximately 16" on center. The optional stringers are 2 x 4's that are spaced approximately 9" on center. In addition to the notches, each joint is secured with stainless steel screws. Using notches and stainless screws makes this a very strong and easy to build structure.

The cedar we use is Western Red Cedar graded Select Tight Knot or better. The kit is shipped ready for stain or paint or it can be left natural.

Even a small deck can be a Great Outdoor Room when one of our pergola kits is added.
This 12' x 18' deck was refurbished by adding the pergola with low voltage lighting, installing a ceiling fan, and building a custom grill island.

The grill island is topped with slate tiles for a surface that is easy to clean and resistant to stains and burns. It is large enough to be a buffet for food and serving pieces which allows for more room at the table. There is plenty of storage built into the island for the gas cylinders, grilling tools and supplies, and a small refrigerator.

The result is an intimate and functional space that the family will use frequently.

Every Savannah Pergola, regardless of size, is pre-assembled at the factory prior to shipment to ensure proper fit and alignment. All screw locations are pre-drilled to prevent splitting.

Our solid 6 x 6 cedar posts are a low cost way to support your cedar pergola. These post can be attached using a variety of galvanized or stainless steel "boots" or column bases. We ship the optional "Y" bracing, upon request, at no additional cost to increase the stability of the structure if needed.

• Projections and widths include the decorative ends. (In other words, a 12' wide pergola uses a 10' beam. The 12" decorative ends make the total length 12'.)
• Prices include hardware required for pergola assembly and attachment. For attached pergolas, a 2 x 6 is included as a band board or header. No Hardware for post attachment to deck or patio is included.
• Stringers are equal to the width of the pergola.
• Freestanding option is for additional beam material and additional rafter decorative ends. Add 8" to the projection with this option.
• Your local Building Code Official may or not require a building permit, check before ordering.
• IMPORTANT: Pergolas are not designed to support swings, hanging chairs, or other heavy objects.
