Pergolas
and arbors can be beautiful additions to your outdoor spaces. However
unless made with dense lattice or covered by heavy vines, they do not
provide very much shade. Now there is an affordable, attractive, and easy
way to add shade to your pergola while enhancing it's beauty.
Our retractable pergola
canopies are offered in two versions. If you have an existing pergola,
the canopies are mounted under it using aluminum tracks. If you are building a new new
structure, the special tracks mount to the side of the pergola rafters.
There are two canopy widths available for the new structure system.

INSTALLATION
Existing
Structures
 The
pergola tracks mount
below the exiting structure. The versatile mounting brackets (3" x 2
3/4") can be mounted on the building wall and/or the pergola's front
beam. The same brackets can also be mounted above the track on a soffit
or the bottom of a rafter or beam if necessary. Either way the patented
wind release will protect the canopy from a sudden strong gust of wind.
The system for existing structures is available in
two widths: 60" and 46". There is a wide selection of fabric colors in
three styles: Airflow (A), Solid (B), or Striped (C) patterns.

New Structures
For new structures you may use the under rafter tracks described
above or a strip track system that is mounted on each side of the
rafters. This allows the canopies to
retract between the rafters. There are two canopy widths
available for this system. The rafters can be made of wood,
aluminum, or vinyl. For wood rafters (the manufacturer recommends a
minimum of 4 x 6's) the track can be mounted into a routered space
along the beam (see the diagram below.) After deciding on the
panel width that you prefer, use the tables below to determine the
spacing of your rafters. Once you have set the rafters, it takes
only minutes to secure the tracks to them and install the canopies. |
