   Deck Hardware

There are many hidden fastener deck attachment systems on the market now. One that we have been familiar with for years is Shadoe Track. It eliminates surface fasteners, providing a safe and more attractive deck surface that lasts longer.

Check out these benefits:

  • No visible nails or screws on the deck surface.
  • Prevents Harmful deck rot that forms due to moisture penetration around conventional deck fasteners.
  • No more checks, hammer marks or splinters.
  • SAFER DECKS - eliminates fastener pop-ups.
  • Easy to Install.
  • Shadoe Track holes allow water drainage.
  • Make splices & Butt Joints without splitting the wood.
  • Any width decking may be used.
  • Works with all wood and most composite deck products.
  • The angle of the Shadoe Track provides additional fastener tension, holding the deck boards secure.
  • Galvanized Track (90 microns) resists rusting for most deck applications and can be used with all pressure treated lumber.
  • Made from Heavy Duty 20 gauge steel.
  • Shadoe Track is backed by a 30 Year Transferable Warranty, guarantees secure deck boards or your money back.

Easy Installation 1-2-3:

Step 1 diagramScrew Shadoe Track to the top edge of each joist. The track should be flush on top and flat against the side of joist. Cut with snips as required.

Step 2 diagramInstall the deck boards one at a time. Position and space deck boards before securing with screws. When installing hardwood deck planks, pre-drill before attaching fasteners.

Step 3 diagramInstall by fastening through the Shadoe Track to the deck board from below. Ensure that you have enough weight on top of the deck board to allow the screws to securely anchor deck boards. Track joints should be staggered from joist to joist. It is designed to provide a minimum of two fastener holes for a 2×4 deck board.

Premium Design
diagram of conventional deck damage

In conventional deck construction nails penetrate through the top of deck boards into the joists. As the wood weathers, it shrinks and expands, causing nails and screws to “pop up”, creating a hazard and allowing moisture penetration that promotes rot and decay. Protection is jeopardized even if the wood has been treated with a preservative. The Shadoe Track under deck fastening system eliminates this.

Shadoe Track is available at most home centers and lumber companies.
