Our Most Versatile
Pergola
As you can see from the video, the Potomac
is our most versatile vinyl pergola model. Choose from the table
below or have us provide a quote for a custom model. This
pergola is available with or without stringers and you may use
it with any of our support posts or your own posts.
The kits are
assembled using common tools: screw gun, measuring tape, and a
circular saw if the size needs to be altered. Illustrated
instructions are provided.

Projection is the length of the rafters including
the decorative ends (Approximately 9" each). Widthis the length of the beam including the
decorative ends (Approximately 12" each). Table below shows popular sizes. For larger sizes and

Notes: • It is very important that care is taken
to ensure that posts are mounted solidly to
the deck or patio. For ground or deck mounts
5" and 6.5" vinyl sleeves can be mounted
using a wooden 4" x 4" or 6" x 6". For
patio mounts 5" vinyl sleeves can be mounted
using our steel post bracket. For attached
models the brackets may be mounted to the
surface of the patio. For freestanding
models, the support posts should be set 30"
or more into the ground for patios and
mounted securely to framing when added to a

Projections include the 2 x 6
decorative ends which add approximately
9". Widths include
the 2 x 8 decorative ends. (In other words, a 12' wide vinyl
pergola uses a 10' beam. The 12" decorative ends make the
total length 12'.) • Pergolas with a 10', 12', or 16' projection
must have a locally obtained 2x6 pressure treated board
inserted into the rafters or we offer optional aluminum "I"
beams for an additional charge.. • Prices include hardware required for pergola
assembly and attachment. For attached pergolas, a 2 x 6
sleeve is included as a band board, however the installer
will need to obtain a treated 2 x 6 to insert into the
sleeve. (Note: We do not recommend cedar or redwood for the
insert as they are rot resistant but not rot proof.) No
Hardware for post attachment to deck or patio is included. • Vinyl pergolas are available in white only. • Stringers are equal to the width of the pergola.
Stringers are spliced on the 18' wide model. •
The maximum size pergola kit currently available is
18' wide and 16' projection. For sizes not shown on the
table order the next larger size and then cut components to
the required size. Example: For a 15' wide vinyl pergola
with a 15' projection, order a 16' x 16' model. •
Freestanding option is for additional beam material
and additional rafter decorative ends. Add 9" to the
projection with this option. • Your local
Building Code Official may or not
require a building permit, check before ordering. • IMPORTANT: Pergolas are not designed to support
swings, hanging chairs, or other heavy objects.
